SPEAC online training on “Avoiding Chemical Safety Risks of Toys Exported to the EU” conducted on 31 March 2021

The SPEAC project conducted the second online training in cooperation with the Ningbo Customs District Technology Center (NCTC) on “EU Product Safety Rules” on 31 March 2021.

Mme. Orsolya CSORBA, the Counsellor from DG JUSTICE AND CONSUMERS at the Delegation of the European Union to China gave a welcome speech. SPEAC Senior Product Safety Expert Richard SARGEANT, and Dr. DENG Yun from NCTC delivered the training on the overview of the EU RAPEX system, analysis of toys’ chemical safety risks and practical solutions for manufactures. They also shared their experience on EU market surveillance and inspection on chemical safety risks. Moreover, with supports by the officials from EU DG GROW, the experts answered questions collected from the audiences online.

153 participants in chemical risk management or related professions from toy and juvenile products manufactories, testing institutions, market surveillance authorities and industrial associations joined the training. According to the survey during the training, 86% thought the training was very useful for their daily work.

35 training certificates were jointly issued by SPEAC and NCTC, and the presentation PPT were provided after the training, the training video with bilingual subtitle will be published on the SPEAC website under the section “Recorded Training Events”.
