How to Recognize and avoid common juvenile products safety problems when exporting to the EU? SPEAC training gave you answers

For enterprises who export to the EU market, ensuring safe product and safe sales and in line with the relevant requirements of the selling country, is always an effective way to win the trust of the EU market.

With the purpose above, SPEAC cooperated with the China Toys and Juvenile Products Association (CTJPA) in 2020 for 4 trainings on EU Product Safety Rules to provide continuous and systematic training and guidance for toy manufacturers and e-commerce platform enterprises, which has achieved good results. At the request of CTJPA members and SPEAC contacts, the joint training series was expanded to the product category of Juvenile Products.

On 22 April 2021, the 1st training on Juvenile Products, the 5th online training of the series on “EU Product Safety Rules for Toys and Juvenile Products” was conducted online.

SPEAC key expert John LAWRANCE and SPEAC Senior Product Safety Expert Richard SARGEANT delivered the training, introduced the serious product safety risks and key requirements of juvenile products in the EU, clarified practical issues for manufacturers, and shared their experience on EU market surveillance.

427 participants from juvenile products manufactories, testing institutions, market surveillance authorities and industrial associations joined the live online training. According to the survey during the training, 85% thought the training was very useful for their daily work. Training certificates were jointly issued by SPEAC and CTJPA, and the presentation PPT were provided after the training.

14 interesting questions from the audiences were online answered by the training experts and officials from EU DG JUST and EU DG GROW at the end of the webinar. All questions and answers, as well as the training course, have been recorded in the bilingual training videos and will be published on the SPEAC website under the section “Recorded Training Events”.
