SPEAC answered FAQs on Stationery Products Safety for the EU market

The webinar of the EU-funded SPEAC project on EU Compliance for Stationery Products Safety was held in cooperation with EMTEK (Shenzhen) on 29 June 2022. More than 600 participants, manufacturers, merchants, importers, and online marketplaces attended.

Stationery products cover a wide range of product types, and include products intended to be used by adults but also for children, which constitutes different rules and safety requirements. The webinar outlined the EU framework on product safety and consumer rights, presented relevant legislation and standards, especially specific legal requirements for children’s products which may be considered as toys, addressed frequently asked questions and provided many practical tips.

The 90-minutes online training was moderated by SPEAC Team Leader Dr. Gerhard WEIHS, opening remarks was addressed by EMTEK General Manager Assistant Mrs. Grace LIU. SPEAC key expert Mr. John LAWRANCE and SPEAC senior product safety experts Mrs. Geraldine COSH and Mr. Richard SARGEANT delivered the training presentation and answered dozens of questions raised by the audiences.

SPEAC finder

Knowledge hub on key product safety requirements, with a smart search engine on internal database (repository of information) and externally such as on the EU legal database and the information about the RAPEX system.
