The EU-funded project, SPEAC, held another successful product safety webinar providing an “Overview of the EU’s Product Safety Control System” on 20 October 2021. This seminar was held in cooperation with the Chengdu Institute of Standardization, and the National South Asian Standardization (Chengdu) Research Center.
The 90-minutes online training was moderated by SPEAC Team Leader Gerhard Weihs, EUD counsellor Mrs. Orsolya CSORBA and CDIS president Mr. CHANG Gong made the opening remarks. The training delivered by two senior product safety experts from the Europe Union Mr. John LAWRANCE and Mr. Torben RAHBEK addressed:
- The market surveillance system in the EU
- Practical checks and tips for manufacturers
- The importance of post market supervision
More than 200 participants from manufactures, traders and institutions related to market surveillance, inspection and testing, attended. Their questions raised during the training were answered by the two training experts.
