On September 25th, the SPEAC Project and the GACC International Inspection and Quarantine Standards and Technical Regulations Research Centre (STRRC) jointly organised the sixth session of their collaborative exchange series in Ningbo, China. This event focused on product safety compliance policies for smart home appliances, addressing the growing demand for quality and safety in exports to the European Union.
The event was co-supported by several local partners, including Ningbo Customs, the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the People’s Government of Cixi City, Cixi Customs, and the Ningbo Customs District Technology Centre.
The exchange attracted over 200 participants on-site and garnered online engagement, with more than 120,000 viewers tuning in via livestream. It brought together key stakeholders from both China and the European Union, with a diverse audience of industry representatives, policymakers, and experts attending the event.
The event featured presentations, case studies, and interactive discussions, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of EU product safety regulations and compliance strategies.
This joint exchange is part of the SPEAC and STRRC initiative to promote the safety of non-food consumer products exported to the EU. By fostering dialogue and providing in-depth training, the series aims to equip Chinese manufacturers, exporters, and regulatory bodies with the knowledge needed to meet EU product safety standards.
