SPEAC and STRRC Fifth Joint Exchange Held in Yiwu | 2025-07-02

On July 2nd, the SPEAC Project and the GACC International Inspection and Quarantine Standards and Technical Regulations Research Center jointly organised an exchange event in Yiwu.

This marked the fifth session of their collaborative exchange activities in China, aimed at deepening understanding of European product safety standards. The event was co-supported by several local partners, including Hangzhou Customs, the Yiwu Market Development Committee, Yiwu Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Yiwu Customs House, Yiwu Land Port Group, National Monitoring Centre for Cross-Border E-Commerce Product Quality Supervision and Risk, Yiwu Land port E-commerce Park, Yiwu Cross-Border E-Commerce Association and Yiwu Digital Port Technology Co., Ltd..

The exchange attracted over 150 participants on-site and garnered online engagement, with more than 20,000 viewers tuning in via livestream. The event’s primary focus was to provide Chinese stakeholders with in-depth insights into the latest EU product safety regulations, particularly on e-commerce, smart goods, and textiles. Key updates were highlighted, including compliance requirements under the EU’s new General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR).
