On November 5th, the SPEAC Project and the General Administration of Customs’ Research Center for International Inspection and Quarantine Standards and Technical Regulations (STRRC) held the seventh session of their joint exchange series in Guangzhou, China. This event focused on cross-border e-commerce compliance policies, emphasising the rules and standards required to ensure product safety in exports to the European Union.
Co-organised by Guangzhou Customs, the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Guangzhou Customs District Technology Center, the exchange attracted over 250 participants on site and drew more than 250,000 online views via livestream.

The event featured expert presentations and detailed discussions on critical topics, including EU rules on cross-border e-commerce, comparisons of product safety standards for children’s products between the EU and China, and practical strategies for navigating compliance with the relevant rules in the European market.
This joint exchange reflects the ongoing commitment of both SPEAC and STRRC to equip Chinese manufacturers, exporters, and regulatory authorities with the knowledge necessary to meet EU product safety standards. By fostering dialogue and providing targeted training, the series continues to strengthen cooperation between the EU and China in ensuring the safety of non-food consumer products in the global markets.
