SPEAC and GACC Host Fourth Joint Exchange in Xiamen

On May 23rd, the SPEAC Project and the GACC International Inspection and Quarantine Standards and Technical Regulations Research Center jointly organised an exchange event in Xiamen, supported by Xiamen Customs. This event marked the fourth session of their collaborative exchange activities in China, aimed at fostering greater understanding of European product safety standards.

The event brought together over 120 participants in person and drew more than 13,000 viewers tuning in via livestream. Attendees included representatives from manufacturers, exporters, industry associations, and regulatory authorities, creating a platform for dynamic discussions and knowledge sharing.

The primary focus of the event was to provide Chinese stakeholders with detailed insights into the latest EU product safety regulations for shoes, boots, and textile clothing. The sessions highlighted important updates, such as compliance requirements under the EU’s General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) and specific standards for materials, labelling, and chemical restrictions.
